This poem by Hafiz is a good reminder about the choices we make every day and every moment. Do you move with the flow of life and appreciate where you are at any given time? … or do you feel like you have a thousand serious moves to make between now and happiness? When you feel stress – take a deep breath, acknowledge the stress and where it lives in your body. Then think about what you can learn from that present moment, let it go and move forward. Finding equilibrium and harmony is something we are always striving towards throughout all of our lives yet we can choose balance and calmness at any time we choose.
Tripping Over Joy
What is the difference between your experience of Existence and that of a saint?
The saint knows that the spiritual path is a sublime chess game with God
and that the Beloved has just made such a Fantastic Move
that the saint is now continually tripping over Joy and bursting out in Laughter and saying, “I Surrender”.
Whereas, my dear, I am afraid you still think you have a thousand serious moves.
