Meet Sonya at Awakening The Core
Sonya Julie believes that life is a beautiful miracle that each of us can embrace while embracing our unique path and purpose. To serve in love and light is an honor and she is dedicated to assisting people and the planet.
Sonya has been actively practicing a spiritual life for over 30 years and she is a Reiki Master, Energy Worker, Certified Assertiveness Coach, Spiritual Mentor, Intuitive, and a Certified Angel Card Reader. Author of Saved by Horses, she enjoys writing as well as coordinating conferences, presenting workshops and conducting events.

Sonya has a Bachelor of Business Administration, an Associate of Agricultural Resources with an emphasis in Equine Management, and an Associate of Liberal Arts.
She has managed fun community bookstores, happily worked on horse farms doing manual labor and helping with classes and summer camps, and provided service with a smile in restaurants. She has helped to press apples into cider, measured inseams in a tailoring shop, and implemented recycling programs in retail stores. She’s been a chef, a fitness coach, a ski instructor, and a camp counselor. She definitely enjoys variety.
Sonya has also held a variety of positions in corporate environments for over 17 years, especially in the areas of finance and banking.
She has been a freelance writer since 2002, starting with contributions to a company newsletter and expanding into creating articles and blog posts for websites and publications. She also co-coordinates a semi-annual writers’ conference and participates in writers’ groups. Sonya enjoys volunteering. She has given her time to therapeutic horseback riding programs, organizations that serve children, and Hostelling International, fostering connection through community.
She enjoys reading, yoga, hiking and playing outdoors, travel, community, creating jewelry and art, meditation, research, cooking, playing and listening to music, fitness, and spending time with loved ones and animals.
